Our English-speaking students are welcome to enjoy and benefit from the Centre’s teaching.
We have students from all around the world – Canada, USA, South America, England, Australia, France, Poland, Spain and more.
Every week, Martin Ratté gives live bilingual English-French classes which you can attend by zoom. The live zoom classes allow you to ask questions and benefit from direct student-teacher interaction. You can also watch the live classes later by replay.
The Subscriber’s Section on our website contains complete Tai Chi video lessons in English and French. Each lesson explains and demonstrates a single move in a clear and simple way. In addition to the video lessons, you will find videos of complete Tai Chi classes.

I had been practicing Tai Chi and Lok Hup Ba for a few years prior to the pandemic. After classes were cancelled at my local place of practice during the pandemic, I found the Qi Gong Center of Quebec in early 2022. I have been attending Martin's online Lok Hup classes for the past 12 months. Martin's instructions on each of the moves of are very detailed. Martin is a great instructor and is extremely knowledgeable in the Taoist Arts. Since I am working during the daytime, I am not able to attend the live classes, but I use the on-demand replay to view the classes. If I have questions about a certain move, I will email Martin the question and he will respond as soon as he can.
I highly recommend the Qi Gong Center of Quebec to anyone is interested in attending in person or online to learn Tai Chi, Lok Hup, Qi Gong and so much more.
I remember once searching the internet for Tai Chi sites and coming across Martin Ratté’s YouTube
video of the 108 moves in the style of Master Moy Lin Shin. I found it inspiring – natural, effortless,
powerful but with incredible softness and fluidity. A beautiful moving picture of yin/yang to be
appreciated regardless of the language you speak.
When my local Tai Chi classes in Australia were no longer available to me due to COVID-19, I signed
up for online classes at the Centre Qi Gong du Quebec. There is about 14 hours’ time difference
between Canada and Australia, so I am not able to attend the Centre’s morning classes. But I am
fortunate to attend one weekly evening Tai Chi class (in both French and English) in real time by
zoom before I start work for the day. All classes (Tai Chi, Lok Hup Ba Fa and Qigong) are available to
me as a recording for 48 hours sent by Martin in an emailed link.
Martin’s English is excellent, and I have no trouble understanding him. In class, he speaks in French
first and then in English. He also kindly repeats questions from those present at the Centre in English
so I understand what is being asked. I am very grateful to have always felt welcome and included in
the class by Martin and fellow class attendees.
Live-streaming classes by zoom sometimes presents technical challenges, but then we are talking
and watching each other over about 15300 kilometres! The class by zoom allows us to interact in
real time – Martin can watch and offer corrections, and I can ask him questions. And there is always
the class recording to watch later as well as the many online videos solely in English. Martin also
promptly replies (in English) to any specific questions I ask by email.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Centre Qi Gong du Quebec to English speaking students.
Try a 3-month subscription first to see for yourself as I did. I believe you will experience a caring,
generous sharing of resources and knowledge.
